We invite you to flok’s second Adult Retreat! This 2-day event is an opportunity for adults to connect, learn, and unwind in a beautiful camp setting. Open to community members 21+ with Classical HCU, MSUD, an Organic Acidemia, PKU, Tyrosinemia, or a Urea Cycle Disorder.
The cost to reserve your spot is $20. There are no additional costs for the retreat and some travel reimbursement is available.
Location & Travel
Washington Family Ranch is in the high desert of Central Oregon, located 3 hours and 30 minutes from Portland International Airport. Adults will stay at the Currant Creek Lodge on the Canyon side of campus.
Schedule
Check-in is June 3 from 3-5 PM (Pacific) with checkout at 12 PM on June 5. Attendees staying for Family Camp (June 5-8) can transition to the Creekside area of Washington Family Ranch at that time.
Lodging
Currant Creek Lodge, completed in 2021, has rustic charm with modern amenities. The lodge features a mix of private and shared rooms, spacious lounges, and an open kitchen ideal for gathering. Requests for private rooms are subject to availability.
Food
Low-protein supplies and snacks are provided to accommodate all protein tolerances, and retreat attendees cook meals together.
Activities
Enjoy a flexible schedule that lets you choose your own fun. From hiking trails to lakeside lounging, go-karts to campfire s’mores – there’s something for everyone! The ranch also features a Sports Center, climbing walls, and a disc golf course.

Medical Care
Your safety is our priority. There will be onsite first aid supplies and an Oregon-certified medical professional (MD, RN, or EMP-P). The St. Charles Madras Hospital is located 50 miles from Washington Family Ranch and has an average emergency response time of 90 minutes. WFR also has an emergency Life Flight contract in place.

The sense of community that I had at the Adult Retreat was so great, because I finally didn't feel alone in having PKU.
I was able to talk about life as an adult with PKU – about work-life balance, insurance coverage, and hear people’s experiences with certain treatments. It gave me a lot of perspective.
